Green Petrol

After preparing biodiesel from jatrofa , technique has now been developed to manufacture petrol from all green plants . It is estimated that the green petrol will be available at petrol pumps with in five to ten years . The scientists of Massachusetts university while declaring the technique of preparation of green petrol , told that it will be made from grass and green trees . It would be completely free from smoke . Chemist George Huber and his students Tauren Carlson and Tushar have played the main part in development of the technique . The technique involves heating the cellulose in presence of the solid catalysts . Solid catalyst does not actively take part in the reaction . On speed cooling the product so produced , the green petrol in the initial stage is produced . The whole reaction is completed with in two minutes with use of very small quantity of the thermal energy . Napthlene and talwin are the by products and constitute , one fourth of the total product . In the next stage the green petrol so produced , is processed with other chemicals . The end product has the same qualities as that of the normal petrol .
